Edmund Weston
Brief Overview & Will

(Bowman MD 15:187+)

There were numerous intermarriages between the desendants of Edmund Weston, born about 1605? married _______ Delano, and Mayflower families. George Bowman repeatedly corrects misinformation on this family published in "The Descendants of Edmund Weston of Duxbury" 1887 as published in NEHGR141: 285.  The only known wife for his son Elnathan was widow "Jane," (Unknown) (not Desire Standish) Elnathan's nephew Nathan married Desire February 21, 1715.  Sarah(3) did not marry John Churchill; rather, John Chandler 4 March, 1707/8.

Edmond Weston(2) (Edmund1), of Plymouth and Plympton, Mass., was married, on 13 December, 1688, to Rebecca3 Soule, a daughter of John2 Soule (George1) of Duxbury, by his first wife, Rebecca Simmons. Children appearing in Plympton are: Nathan Weston, born 8 February, 1688; Zachariah Weston, born 16 December, 1690; Rebecca Weston, born 31 July, 1693; John Weston, born 27 July, 1695; Edmund Weston, born 21 October, 1697. Edmond(2) died intestate 23 September, 1727.

Elnathan Weston in a will dated 19 April, 1728 mentions the following children:   "to my sons Samuel and Joseph weston my forty acre lot of land at pine brook Equaly betwext them"
"to my Daughter mary the wife of Joseph Simons Three pounds"
"to my Daughter Sary the wife of John chandler fifty shilings"
"to my Daughter abigal fifty Shilings and my best bed and furniture belonging to it and the bigest plater and the bigst pewter bason"

No original documents relating to the estate of Edmund Weston (1) remain in the Plymouth County, Mass., Probate Files. The original will of Elnathan2 Weston is still preserved as is the original warrant issued to the appraisers, and the original inventory.
