Will of Mrs. Joanna Symonds

The will of Joanna Symonds of Ipswich was proved in the Ipswich court May 9, 1666. The following copy is transcribed from the original instrument on file in the probate office at Salem.

Theƒe preƒents witheƒƒeth that I Joana Symons of Ipƒwich in the county of Eƒƒex being weake of body but through Gods goodnes Inioying my vnderstanding and memory and not knowing what time || I || have heere in this life doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament as followeth first I committ my soule into the hands of Jeƒus christ mybleƒƒed redeemer and my body to the earth from whence it came to be decently buryed And for my outward estate I Thus diƒpoƒe God haueing given me two daughtres which are maryed both and haue chilldren my will is equally to diƒpoƒe of what estate I leaue behind me att my deceaƒe vnto my ƒayd two daughters and there children, namely vnto my daughter Priƒilla the wife of John warner and to her children after her deceaƒethe one halfe of my estate And to my daughter Abigaill the wife of Robet Pearce the other halfe equally devided my debts & funerall charges being diƒsharged and I doe apoynt my loueing sons in law John warner & Robert Pearce to be my executors of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I haue heervnto ƒett my hand and ƒeale and doe declare this to be my last will and testament this sixt day of April 1666.
