Will of Luke Heard

The nuncupative will of Luke Heard was proved in the Ipswich court 28: 7 : 1647. The following is a copy of the same as recorded in the Ipswich Deeds, volume I, leaf 33.

The laƒt will of Luke Herd latly deaceaƒed about the (sentence ends)

Imprimis I give vnto my eldeƒt ƒonne John Herd ten pounds to be paid him at the age of 21 yeares

Item I doe give vnto my ƒonne Edmund five pounds to be paid him at the age of 21 yeares Item I give my bookes vnto my two ƒonnes to be equally parted betweenethem alƒo this is my will that my two ƒonnes be brought vp to writing & to reading & then when they ƒhalbe fitt to be putt forth to ƒuch trades as they ƒhall chooƒe. Alƒoe I make my loving wife Sarah Herd my ƒole executrix Thus much as aboveƒaid was expreƒd by the above named LukeHerd in the prƒence of vs
