Will of Lawrence Leach

The nuncupative will of Lawrence Leach of Salem was proved in the court at Salem 25:4:1662.. The following is a copy of the orignal paper on file in the office of the clerk of courts at Salem, volume VIII, leaf 33. "The Essex Antiquarian" Vol. X p 168

Larance Leach Aged 85 years or thereabouts beinge parfitt in memory neer a yeare befoe his death expreƒƒed himƒelfe vnto vs whoƒe names are heervnder written in the diƒpoƒing of that wch hee had, we being vrgent wth him to make his will his expreƒƒions tp vs was this firƒt he ƒaid that he did owe thirtie II pounds II for the mill & his will was that his wife ƒhould pay his debts and when his debts ware paid that ƒhee ƒhould take all hee had.
