Will of Giles Badger. The will of Giles badger of Newbury was proved in the Ipswich court 28:7:1647. The following copy is taken from the record contained in the Ipswich Deeds, Volume 1, leaf 33, the orignal being missing. -- The 29th day of June in the yeare or our Lord 1647 I Giles Badger of Newbury
being ick in body but of pfect memory thankes be given to god And I doe ordaine
& make my lat will & Tetamt in mann & forme as followeth
firt I give & bequeath my oule to god & my body to the earth to be
buried in hope to be raied againe in the reurreccon by Jesus Chrit my
aviour econdly I give & bequeath to my wife two parts of my etate in
he remaine vnmarried & my will is that my child hould have one part the
which part my will is hould be paid to my onne when he is 18 yeares of age the
benefitt of it to be improved for bringing vp vntill he be 18 yeares of age Likewie
my will is that if my wife doe marry againe that then my wife hall have the one
halfe & my onne the other halfe to be paid to him when he is 18 yeares of age
and oe likewie the benefit of it to be improved for his maintanance.
