The Mayflower Genealogies

George Ernest Bowman  MD 29:2 (1931)

[Editor's Note:  These lineages are as Bowman and others have presented them.  Always check more recent sourcing before regarding any information as undisputed.]

In an effort to clarify Mayflower lineage, Bowman published the following summary in 1931.  It gives the known Mayflower families who had descendants and the intermarriage data of these families.  He says:

"I decided to call my compilation "The Mayflower Genealogies,"  as early as 1899, and have used that name for more than thirty-two years. There were exactly one hundred and four (104) Mayflower Passengers, but many of them died the first winter, and others died without issue.

Descent can be proved from only fifty of the Passengers, and these fifty can be divided into twenty-three family groups, as follows:"

Site Note:  Where a second generation individual is included, it indicates that this family member came on the Mayflower.  It does not exclude other children born here. Also note that in some instances other family members came later, and thus are legitimate Mayflower Ancestors but not included in this passenger accounting.
