8: Degory Priest Degory Priest was born about 1579. Died at Plymouth, January, 1621. He married, at Leiden, 4 November, 1611, Sarah (Allerton) Vincent (the widow of John Vincent), who died at Plymouth, in 1633, before 3 November. After his death at Plymouth, she married 3rd, Godbert Godbertson. [MD 7:130] Degory Priest, Unmarried man, from London, in England, accompanied by William Litle and Samuel Fuller, his acquaintances, with Sarah Vincent, also from London, in England, widow of John Vincent, accompanied by Jane Thickins and Rosamond Jepson, her acquaintances. [Prince, Annals, p.96] "Jan. 1. Monday, The People at Plimouth go betimes to Work (re) and the Year Begins with the Death of Degory Priest." (This is listed under the date of 1621) Children: Mary, born in Leiden, Holland, probably within a year or two after the marriage of her parents November 4, 1611. Neither she nor her sister nor mother came with Degory Priest in the Mayflower to Plymouth in 1620. After her husband's death there on January 1, 1620/21, the widow Priest married Godbert Godbertson at Leiden November 13, 1621, and, with her two daughters, Mary and Sarah Priest, came with him to Plymouth in the Anne in 1623. There Mary Priest married Phineas Pratt. [MD 4:136] The children of Phineas and Mary (Priest) Pratt were: Sarah, m. by about 1632 John Coombs.
