JOSIAH BARTLETT (1729-95), Signer of Declaration of Independence; President of New Hampshire (1790-92) & 1st Governor (1793-94). Partly printed autograph document signed, as Justice of the Peace, signed twice, once in the text and again at conclusion, 1 page, Dec 14, 1773, 6"X7 1/2", Kingston, New Hampshire, ordering the sheriff of Rockingham County to arrest John Leavit. Reads in part, "...In His Majesty’s Name you are required to attach the goods or estate of John Leavit of Raymond...to the value of forty shillings...and for want thereof to take the Body of the said John Leavit...that he may be had before me Josiah Bartlett Esq; one of his Majesty’s Justices...to answer to James Proctor of Kingston...Blacksmith in a plea...by a note...promised to pay him or his order forty shillings..." Completed totally in Bartlett’s hand, and signed twice, once in the text and again at conclusion.

Small legal document Portsmouth NH, 1787 Names appear to be Benjamin Donning, or Benjamin Downing, William Langdon.

Hand-written tax receipt for property in county of Grafton, New Hampshire, dated 1790.   Names include Dyer Willis, John Parker.

1760 Document Signed Meashach Weare. NH Govr.

Document signed by Measach Weare who later became a Governor of New Hampshire during Colonial times. 1760. Deed for sale of land in Hampton Falls. Large scan so that you may read it. Actual size is 12 by 7 and 1/2 inches.  Other names include Jonathan Brown, Nathaniel Gove, Hannah Brown, Paul Greenleaf, Elisha Brown
