1853 legal document from New Hampshire administers to the estate of Sally Walker now deceased.
Deed dated 1870, in historic SURRY, CHESHIRE CO., NEW HAMPSHIRE. ISAAC BUNDY sells 250 acres at Surry to WM. BAXTER of Cheshire Co. The land was bounded by land owned by ELISHA BRIGGS of KEENE, LEMUEL HOLMES, SIMON BAXTER, ABIA CRANE, ASA HOLMES, and LEMUEL HOLMES. An Isaac Bundy, Jr. was born 5 June 1774 NH died 9 Nov 1854 Burke Vt. married 1st at Surry, NH Anna Holmes, Mar 2nd 1808, and later Abigail Wetherbee. This deed, recorded at Cheshire Registry 1871 may involve the son of ISAAC BUNDY, JR. However, it may involve Isaac Bundy, Jr. himself as the deed may have been written posthumously. This issue arises as there is a dating discrepancy. Note in the scanned image below where the year one thousand eight hundred and seventy has been scored and one thousand eight hundred and ten written in its place. Other names include Elisha Briggs, James Kingsbury.

JOSIAH BARTLETT, JR. (1768-1838) U.S. CONGRESSMAN & SON OF THE SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE, JOSIAH BARTLETT, SR. Here's a Free Frank cover signed and addressed by Bartlett to famous New Hampshire historian, author and genealogist, John Farmer. Red wax seal and "Washn. City, Dec 23" circular date stamp (circa 1812) and a "FREE" hand stamped marking. Bartlett was a representative from New Hampshire, elected to the 12th Congress and serving from 1811-1813 (during the War of 1812). Among other things, Bartlett practiced medicine and served as presidential elector in 1824, supporting John Quincy Adams for the Presidency. His father was a member of the Continental Congress in 1775 & 1776, signer of the Articles of Confederation and signer of the Declaration of Independence.

1809 Ephraim Butler signed a promissory note to John Lord for $17.42. In 1815 he reduced his debt by providing Lord with rum and lumber. However, by December of 1818 Lord had decided to resort to legal action by taking Butler to court for the remaining thirteen dollars. These three documents consist of Promissory Note, notation of partial payment and Summons.
Document that petitions to raise money for a bridge near the town of Albany, New Hampshire. As this is a retained copy ( made in 1833), the signatures are copies of the originals. Names include Ephraim Watkins, James Merrill, Enoch Merrill, James Dearing, Samuel Dearing, William Merriman (?) Moses Merriman (?), John Hill, Charles Hill, several members of the Hawkins (?) family, and others.
Legal document dated November, 12th AD. 1816.., handwritten on both sides., Request for a "Search Warrant." Document reads like a mystery novel. Written in ink., combination of old English, etc. Document is 7 1/2 x 11 7/8 inches opened, folded once. Very detailed request for a warrant to search the home, barn, etc., of a Samuel Bagley of Candia just north of Raymond in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. For a silver plated harness "feloniously" stolen from Moses Dudley. Warrant signed by Richard Jenness, Justice of the Peace., to the Sheriff or his deputy or either of the constables of the town of Candia. Continues on the verso into all the details of the search and arrest of the thief, etc. Signed again by the Justice Of peace Richard Jennes.., on the bottom part of the document is the report describing the "diligent" search of the house and barn and the stolen item's recovery.., and the "apprehending" the "body" of said Isaac Worthen and have him before Benj'n Pilstuary, Esq. one of the Justices of Peace in the said County.., signed by Nath White D.S..., probably a Deputy Sheriff. Cost and all fees listed.
Colonial America: Nice legal document from New-Hampshire dated, Londonderry, June 4, 1807. Partially printed and mostly completed by hand in ink. Text in partial old English.., To the Sheriff of "faid" County of Hillsborough { lined out, and Rockingham written in.., a very detailed and lengthy summons, or "Greetings.".., condensed- for the sum of ten dollars, etc. to take the "body" of "faid" Samuel March of Londonderry if he may be found, etc. and him safely keep.., The rest of the document is handwritten by John Dickey Justice of the Peace and signed by him. Verso, dated June 8th and the statement signed by most likely the Sheriff, which includes a listing of all the various charges, total $2.28 and signed again by Justice Dickey and two attorneys. Dickey also states that Samuel on the 25th day in November in the year of our LORD 1806, etc. by his note in writing under his hand, etc., and continues on with more details concerning the sheriff, or his deputy, or either of the"conftables are required to attach the goods or "eftate" of Samuel March of said Londonderry Gentleman. Verso indicates all his property has been attached, etc. and signed by the Deputy Sheriff.
