1793 American.Document, Court Bill

1793 original American document, Commonwealth of Massachusetts court bill, against Job Chase for passing a bad dollar knowingly

Hand written document from a ship's captain dated at Boston, 1736. The Captain verfies by this document the whereabouts of his mate while they had sailed to Connecticut and the West Indies and to Boston. Says that he stayed on board every night. [ a time when the dreaded virus Small Pox was infecting people]. The ships entering the ports of the British Colonies had to prove where they were and what was done while away, etc. Many ships had to remain outside the port awaiting infestation inspections. The reverse side has a writtten statement dated at Boston 1736 stating the declaration is a true one. Then is autographed by Edward Hutchinson and Joseph Wadsworth.  Other names:  Nathaniel Wyor.

**JOSEPH WADSWORTH was appointed by the Congress in 1777 to be the Deputy of Commissary Purchases. Then appointed the Commissary General of the Entire Continental Army in 1778. After he resigned in 1780 he helped the French Army.

Hand written INDENTURE FOR LAND located in the village of BRIDGEWATER. [a town south of Boston. Once visited by Abe Lincoln before the Civil War. Lincoln dedicated a post office there and it still remains active though tiny.] This indenture concerns Benjamin White and Samuel Lenard. One fellow describing his land by the trees and creek markings. Though likely not a great historic item, it is dated 1747 during the French and Indian War which was quite active in this area.  Other names Thomas Conant, Nathaniel Hooper ?, or Hosmer ?

Christopher Gore, Governor of Massachusetts, and Senator from Massachusetts. Large, 9" x 13" manuscript document as Governor, datedJune 21, 1800, appointing Joseph Whiton, of Lee, an "Inspector of Gunpowder".
