Document from "His Majesty's Colony of Connecticut in New England" It has a very nice woodcut in the upper left and is part printed, part handwritten. The document reads: "To all people to whom these presents shall come, Greeting. Now ye that J Ebeneser Hopkins of the Town of Hartford in the County of Hartford withn His Majesty's Colony of Connecticut in New England for and consideration of the sum of sixty five pounds ??? money of New England to and in hand before the ensealing hereof, well and truly aid, by William Cadwell of same town county and colony the receipt wherof I do hereby acknowledge, and am therewith fully satisfied and contented, have given, granted, bargained and sold; and by these presents do fully and absolutely give, grant, bargain, sell, aliene, convey and confirm to him the said William Cadwell his heirs and assigns forever certain....." It is signed and sealed "this eleventh day of January in the second year of the reign of our sovereign Lord George Grand of Great Britain, @ King. Annoque Domini, 1728" It is signed by Daniel Messinger and Gilbert J???" and also by Ebeneser Hopkins.

Connecticut country store ledger for purchases by Ebenezer Pitts, Jr. It measures approximately 7.25" wide by 6.25" deep.

Colonial Connecticut manuscript document, signed by George Masters, 1 page, May 17, 1751, 7"X4", Hartford, Connecticut, pay order, addressed to Moses White. Reads, "...Pay to Mr Jacob White of Springfield twelve pounds money old tenor - which is the ballance due by book to... Your Humble Servant, George Masters".

Connecticut: 1735 lease from James Robinson to Stephen Belding in Middletown, county of Hartford, colony of Conn. for a piece of "land with the dwelling house thereon standing", for 20 shillings and all the apples on the land.

Fairfield, Connecticut.  "An account of things delivered to Ebenezer BRADLEY and his wife Sarah BRADLEY" dated April 24, 1744. Per Donald Lines Jacobus's Families of Old Fairfield, Ebenezer Bradley, son of Francis, was born in 1723 and died at Greenfield in 1782. He married Sarah Hull, daughter of Eliphalet. She was baptized in 1726 and died in 1770. This document seems to tell of items that the couple was acquiring as they set up their household. All prices are given in pounds and shillings. Items include a bed, a case of drawers, chairs, pillows, tables, a trunk, pot and kettle, woolen bird eye coverlet, and a coward calf.

Document dated April 3rd, 1789. The document is a receipt of interest payments on three State Notes at the "Comptroller's-Office, Hartford" Connecticut. It is signed by John Judson, Esq. and John Benjamin

Woodward for "parcel or Tract of Land", etc. Signed by principals and Mofes(sic.) Lester, Justice of Peace. Recording information on back, folded in six for filing, 13x71/2",

Windsor, Connecticut deed dated 30 October, 1804 whereby Stoddard PASKO of East Windsor, Connecticut sells to his brother Theodore PASKO, also of East Windsor, a tract of about seventeen acres of land lying in the Second Society in East Windsor. The tract is bounded by a highway and by land owned by Shadrack BARBER and his wife. It is west of Jabez HEATH partly, partly bounded by land of Amos PASKO, Ezekiel OSBORN, and Daniel PORTER. The deed is witnessed by Roswell H. GRANT and Sidney GRANT. Signed by Stoddard PASKO. Roswell GRANT also signs as Justice of the Peace.

Oxford, Connecticut deed involving some of Connecticut's oldest families, the Perrys and the Hudsons. Dated December 2, 1858, Eunice PERRY of Oxford, New Haven County, Connecticut, sells tracts of land to Ransom HUDSON, also of Oxford. The tracts are located on Governor's Hill in Oxford. The land is bounded by that of George PERRY, S. Staples WASHBAND, Nathan J. WILCOXSON (in trust for Nathan PERRY), and Laura CHATFIELD. Witnessed by Nathan J. WILCOXSON and Maria HUDSON. Signed by Eunice PERRY. Nathan J. WILCOXSON also signs as Justice of the Peace

This pay voucher measures 6" x 7 1/2" and is on early "laid paper" or "rag paper" which was made from pulverizing cotton rags in an emulsion then letting the cotton fibers settle onto a metal screen causing the characteristic parallel lines seen in the paper.During the Revolutionary War most soldiers were paid by promisary notes such as this for service rendered for the American cause. This voucher was made out to Levi Cany to the amount of 7 pounds 18 shillings and states "charge the State of Hartford, 14th,April, 1778". Committee members Samual Hurch and John Linward for the State of Connecticut signed this legal document in early brown ink

Rhode Island Revolutionary Documents:  2 document set, with the soldier's service discharge written at Morristown.  Served in Henry Sherburne's regiment. Camp Morristown April 28 1780. Joshua Flint a soldier in the first Company in Colo Henry Sherburnes Regit haveing served three years in the Continental army the term of his engagement as a good and faithful soldier to satisfaction of his officers is hereby discharged from the Service with Reputation. Abijah Savage Capt Commdt Colo Sherburnes Regit/......

The second document is his pay order from Hartford, CT pay table for eight pounds twelve shillings and twopence. Joshua Flint was from Bolton, Connecticut and enlisted in Capt Savage's Co. on April 29, 1777. In October of 1777 he went to the relief of Fts. Clinton & Montgomery, and on December 10, 1777 he was involved in the expedition against Long Island. He was also engaged at the Battle of Rhode Island on Aug. 29, 1778; wintered at Morristown (the origin of the service voucher here), and also fought at the battle of Springfield, NJ on June 23, 1780./.......... Capt. Abijah Savage was a Lieutenant in the Quebec expedition: He was captured, exchanged and appointed Captain on Feb 25, 1777. He retired June 1, 1780.
