Connecticut Documents 3 February 6, 1781 from the State of Connecticut Pay-Table office and is a receipt for ten pounds paid to Colonel Henry Champion. It is endorsed on the back and signed by the pay table committee - John Lawrence, Treasurer and Finn Wadsworth.
WILLIAM PITKIN (1725-1789), American Patriot; owned one of the first Powder Mills in Colonial America, from which he supplied gunpowder to the Continental Army. Document signed, "Wm Pitkin", 1 page, May 23, 1777, 8"X5", Hartford, to John Lawrence, Treasurer of Connecticut, pay order for "Paul Hubbard the sum of Ten pounds...for Supporting John Wilson a Transient person..."
ROGER WOLCOTT JR, Colonial Official; son of Roger Wolcott (1679-1767), Colonial Governor of Connecticut (1750-54); brother of Oliver Wolcott (1726-97), signer of the Declaration of Independence. Manuscript document, 1 page, Feb 2?, 1746/47, 8"X12", land transfer within the Wolcott family. In part, "...I William Wolcott of Windsor...for the Consideration of the natural Love & affection I bear to my Son William Wolcott do...grant...& convey to him...one certain...panel of Land...on East side of Connecticut River..." Signed twice, as Justice of the Peace and as a witness. Also signed by William Wolcott and Martha Wolcott.
Manuscript document signed, 1 page, Mar 13, 1788, 7"X4", Norwich (Conn). "I Phebe Cleveland of Norwich promise For Value Recd to pay Labdiel Rogers Three Pounds Ten Shillings Lawfull Money On Demand with Lawfull Interest till paid..." Signed by Cleveland and a witnesses.
