Revolutionary War pay document
Dated October 25th 1781. "Pay Mr. William Moseley"

1782 Document
Notes that Tames Patterson served in the Connecticut Line of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War and is owed Six Pounds, Five Shillings and a half pence. It is signed by the state treasurer, John Lawrence and is dated June 1, 1782. The reverse is all handwritten and notes, among other things, interest owed. The 1" unusual bale hole punch in the certicate indicates that it has been cancelled.

   

An 8" x 4" manuscript document for a plot of land in "Confort" along the "P(ost) Highway" between the towns of "Branford" and "Wallingford" containing 11+ acres. The survey is "...Drawn for the widow Hannah Tyler..."

(COLONIAL) WM. PITKIN JR. (1725-1789) American Patriot. He was major of the 1st regiment of the colonial forces that were raised for the expedition against Canada under General Abercrombie in 1758, and was a member of the council of safety during the greater part of the Revolutionary War. He was appointed colonel in 1762 and was a member of the council from 1766-1785. In 1784 he was elected to congress. He was chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court for 19 years, and was a delegate to the convention for the ratification of the constitution of the United States in 1788. He was connected with large manufacturing interests and in 1755 began to manufacture gunpowder for the Rev. War in the same mills owned by his grandfather. This was the first powder-mill in Connecticut. Autograph Document Signed, New Haven, 1 June 1768, 1p, 7-1/2 x 3-1/2. ÒTo Joseph Talcott Treasurer of the Colony of Connecticut. Sir pay out of the public Treasury to the Select Men of Bolton the Sum of five pounds, Ten Shillings and Nine pence lawful money for Sundry Expenses for an Indian Squaw taken sick in said Town which Accounts were Examined by the Council.Ó Pitkin signs as clerk [of the Council]. Large ink ÒXÓ across signature [cancellation mark].

DATED 1764 IS FOR A SECTION OF LAND CALLED "NOD" IN FARMINTON. IT IS BETWEEN SAMUEL ROBERTS AND WILLIAM WOODFORD.

EARLY DEED FROM THE COUNTY OF FAIRFIELD CONN. DATED 1751. IT IS BETWEEN JOHN GARRET AND WILLIAM WOODFORD FOR A SECTION OF LAND LYING IN SIMSBURY IN THE COUNTY OF HARTFORD.
